MBBS at JIPMER: Apply from tomorrow

Kozhikode: The JIPMER Post-graduate Medical Training and Research Institute, an institution of national importance, under the aegis of the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, Government of India, Applications for the 2017 MBBS program.

The selection of the 200 seats offered at the JIPMER, the Puducherry (150 seats) and the JIPMER, the Karaikal (50 seats) will be based on a 2½-hour common entry examination to be organized as an online computer test (CBT) , On June 4, 2017 (Sunday), in two shifts, with the morning shift / first shift from 10 am to 12:30 pm and afternoon / second shift from 3 pm to 5:30 pm.
The examination will be conducted in English only and will include 200 MCQs of the Physics (60 questions), Chemistry (60), Biology (60), Language and Comprehension (10) and Logical and Quantitative Reasoning (10) Four alternatives. The questions will be based on the syllabus as prescribed by the Council of State Hr. And CBSE for standards XI and XII. The exam will take place in 75 cities across India. List of cities is mentioned in Annex-VI of the Prospectus which can be downloaded

The candidate may opt for three cities of examination. The assignment of the city of examination would be in order of preference on a first-first-first-served basis.

Eligibility:
The applicant must be an Indian / Overseas Citizen of India and must complete 17 years on or before December 31, 2017 (Born on or before 01-01-2001.
The candidate should have passed the upper secondary or secondary school examination or the Indian school certificate examination which is equivalent to the 10 + 2 senior secondary examination after a 12-year study period, the last two years of that Study including physics, chemistry, biology / bio-technology (which will include practical tests in these subjects) or any other option with English at a level at least equal to the basic course for English as prescribed by the National Council for Educational Research and Training after the introduction of 10 + 2 + 3 Educational structure recommended by the National Committee for Education, as set out in Annex I to the Prospectus. Those who have passed the qualification examination other than those listed in Appendix I must submit a Certificate of Eligibility prior to the completion of the admission. OCI / NRI candidates must submit the certificate of eligibility from the Association of Indian Universities, in New Delhi.

The candidate must hold a Bachelor's degree in Physics, Chemistry, Biology / Biotechnology and English individually and must have obtained at least 50% of the marks obtained in Physics, Chemistry, Biology / Bio-technology from the qualification examination. Those who belong to scheduled castes / Scheduled Tribe or other descendant classes / DPOs require only 40% points in Physics, Chemistry, Biology / Bio-technology taken together in the qualification exam. For DPO candidates in general category, the minimum scores in Physics, Chemistry, Biology / Biotechnology taken in the qualification examination are 45%.

Individuals who have appeared or will be required to attend the Qualifying Examination in March / April 2017 and whose results have not yet been reported may also apply for admission provided they meet the prescribed eligibility criteria.

Application:
The application can be submitted only online at the "Apply on-line MBBS admission-2017" link applicable to www.jipmer.edu.in. The flow chart for the online filling application is given in the Appendix (Appendix V) in the Prospectus.
Online registration can be made from 11 am on 27.03.2017 (Monday) until 5.00 pm on 3.05.2017 (Wednesday).

Registration fees:
Registration fees can be paid using the NetBank, Credit Card or Debit Card. The costs for the General (UR) and P-UR and OBC & P-OBC categories are Rs.1200 / -. For SC / ST & P-SC, it is Rs.1, 000 / -. For NRI / OCI is Rs.2, 500 / -. The bank transaction charges will be those applicable. OPH & P-OPH are exempt from payment of the application fee.

The submission process of the online application is completed only after clicking the submit button after the transfer of personal details, scanned photography and scanned signature. The applicant can download a copy of his / her completed application containing the application number, personal details, scanned photograph, digital signature and payment details.

Hall Tickets:
Hall Entrance Examination tickets will be available for download to applicants whose applications are complete in all respects, starting at 10 am on May 22, 2013 (Monday). The Hall ticket will contain: (i) the name and date of birth as typed by the candidate in the application; (Ii) the photo and signature image as downloaded by the applicant; (Iii) the exam city awarded and the bib number. No change of category / age / name / date of birth (BOD) will be received after submission of the application. Applicants in this case must apply again before the closing date. The request for rectification / modification of any other details in the hall ticket is not taken into consideration. Applicants will not be allowed to appear for the entrance examination unless they produce the ticket from the JIPMER website room to the examination centers with original proof of identity and a photocopy of the same .

Examination Day: Candidates must go to examination centers 2 hours before the examination begins. They must take the exam before 8 am for the morning shift / 1 pm for the afternoon shift. Entry to the examination center ends at 9:15 am / 2:15 pm. Examination begins at 10 am / 3 pm. The candidate will not be allowed to leave the examination room until 12:30 pm / 5:30 pm, closing time).

Applicants must wear only the Hall ticket with valid proof of identity and photocopy of the same proof of identity inside the room. The candidate will not be allowed to pass the exam without proof of valid validity and proof of identity, which includes Aadhar / E-Aadhar with validated digital signature / passport.
The candidate's answer to one or more questions, by clicking on the "Submit" button before the exam is closed, will be considered as the candidate's answer. Questions that are "answered" will be deemed to have been answered. Those "Marked for Review" will be considered "Not Answered". Each answer with a correct answer receives four notes. No mark will be deducted for incorrect answer. The result will be the gross score. This gross score will be used to determine the Percentile score [for the purpose of Eligibility using Cut-Offs and Normalization].

The merit list would be drawn according to the category according to the minimum values ​​of the hundredths. The unrestricted category (UR) / OCI / NRI needs a score at the 50th percentile, while for the non-reserved DPO (UR) it will be the 45th percentile and for SC / ST / OBC / OPH, This will be the 40th percentile. Details of the standardization process are given in the Prospectus. The Percentile scores for the Total Marks for both teams would be merged and arranged to obtain an overall list of merits.

Attachment:
In the case where two or more candidates obtain a grade equal to that of the entrance examination, their interest will be determined by considering (i) higher percentile scores in biology (ii) higher percentile scores in chemistry (iii ) (V) higher Percentile scores in logical and quantitative reasoning (vi) and finally the elder candidate by age, one after the other on this order.
Only NRI / OIC applicants who opt for self-financing at the time of the application itself will be considered for the 6-seat merit list for NRI / OIC status applicants.

Result:
The list of candidates who are eligible for counseling with Mr.B.B.S. Course would be provisionally declared no later than 19.06.2017 (Monday). Notes / Percentile The scores of the individual candidates will be available on the JIPMER website www.jipmer.edu.in.

On the basis of the results of the competitive examination, the following merit lists will be established on the basis of the Percentile scores: (a) Common Merit List (UR) (A reserved candidate will not be considered at the general headquarters (D) Other descending classes List of candidates (e) Pondicherry-UR List of candidates (f) List of candidates from Pondicherry-OBC (g) List of candidates from Pondicherry-SC (h) List of candidates from the DPO (i) List of candidates from the Pondicherry-OPH IRP / OIC.

Within each category, the total number of the candidate to be called for the board will be 10 times the no. Seats available in each category. Details of the consultation process are set out in the Prospectus.

The seats are reserved for the National Indian belonging to different categories and also for those belonging to the Pondicherry UT belonging to different categories. Of the 150 seats in JIPMER, Puducherry, 50 seats are of general category. The seats in the other categories are OBC-28, SC-16, ST-11, P-UR-23, P-OBC-11, P-SC-6, NRI / OCI-5. At the JIPMER Karaikal campus, the seats for the different categories are: UR-15, OBC-10, SC-6, ST-4, P-UR-7, P-OBC-5, P-SC-2 / OIC-1 (Total 50). A horizontal reservation is made for DPO candidates whose details are available in the Prospectus.

The fee structure for Indian nationals includes (i) admission fees (one time) of Rs. 4,000 / - (ii) academic fees (per year) of Rs.1,400 / - (iii) JIPMER Association for Students (pa) -Rs. (V) Corpus Fund on Academic Costs (pa) - Rs. 70 / - (vi) Fees (pa) - Rs. Rs.2, 000 / - (Total - Rs 11 470 / -).
Academic fees for NRI / OCI applicants will be US $ 75,000 / - + transaction fees as applicable. This will be a one-time payment for the entire duration of the course at the time of admission. The letter of admission will only be issued upon confirmation of payment by the competent authority. The payment must be made in foreign currency by means of a random draw for the benefit of the director, JIPMER, Puducherry payable to "Puducherry".

There are separate hostels for boys and girls. All students, including NRI, can avail of a common guest room upon availability.
